Between the temperature and the humidity I’m sitting on my couch dripping in sweat panting like a dog.
Happy Memorial day ya’ll. I’ve had a productive day so far. I had work at the horse farm from 8-10am. As usual my upper body got a kickass workout shoveling and wheeling tons of manure….
TRY wetting and freezing a bandana b4 your run, or incorporate a cooling station or two into your run (i use water fountain in the park, quarter water from the bodega, or spirnklers, kids with squirt guns, whatever)
run in the shade as much as possible. sun gives you wrinkles/cancer/heatstroke.
it’s about 89 degrees and muggy here in the bronx today. but i had a very nice run! how? well I plan my run so the first .7 miles I just run. I drink a glass of juice if i havent’ eaten before my run (so i don’t get dizzy) or else I just drink water if I ate earlier. after the first .7 miles i get to the park. I run to the playground and drink a sip of water and put my bandana in the water and soak it and my hair. i run to the other side of the park where the basketball courts are and drink some more water. then i do my kickboxing routine in the deep shade of the wooded area. then i drink some more water at the other little playground and run through the sprinkler again or let kids shoot me with water guns. then i lay down in the shade for two songs (I keep my ipod in a water resistant arm band case). the i run home. i got a little overheated on the run home today but it is memorial day so there are people everywhere and i just asked somebody for some water. and i got to practice speaking spanish. so bonus all around. i ran a little over two miles. woudl run more but it is kind of too hot for me, even with my tips!!
